A lot of companies say they care about your privacy — we say it and mean it! We’re committed to building products and services that help make your mobile experience safer.

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to explain how we use and disclose information collected through the ArmorforAndroid.com Services which is owned and controlled by Sight Glass LLC ("Sight Glass"). It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and is subject to the ArmorforAndroid.com Terms of Use. Your use of the ArmorforAndroid.com Services and any personal information you provide on the ArmorforAndroid.com Services (which includes www.armorforandroid.com and our mobile application) remains subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.

1. User Privacy

ArmorforAndroid.com will not sell your information to third parties. We will not share your personal information, registration, or client device information or backup or location data with third-parties except under the following conditions:

  • If you have provided your express consent.
  • It is necessary to provide you with the ArmorforAndroid.com products and services. For example, we may share this information with subsidiaries, affiliated companies, or other businesses or persons for the purpose of providing certain features of the ArmorforAndroid.com Services and for processing such information on our behalf. This may include disclosing information to our SMS service partners for the purpose of sending text messages to your phone, a location based map provider so that you may locate your phone if lost or stolen, a payment processor such as a credit card company or your wireless provider to bill you for goods and services, and a hosting provider to help administer customer support. We require that these parties agree to process such information in compliance with our privacy policy, we use reasonable efforts to limit their use of such information, and we require these parties to use any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. These third parties are not allowed to use your personal information for any other purpose.
  • We share encrypted (hashed) equipment identifier numbers with analytics services to understand how new users find our application.
  • We are required to do so by law, or have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or respond to a court order, subpoena, or search warrant.
  • We believe, in good faith, that it is appropriate or necessary to: enforce our Terms of Use; take precautions against liability; protect users from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses; investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations; assist government enforcement agencies; protect the security or integrity of the ArmorforAndroid.com Services; or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of ArmorforAndroid.com, users, or others.
  • If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, you will be notified via email and/or prominent notice on our Web site of any change in ownership or uses of your information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your information.
2. You can remove your personal information.

You always have the ability to close your account or prevent your data from being accessible through ArmorforAndroid.com Services.

If you delete location data, it is anonymized on our production systems and there is no longer a link between your account and any saved location information. If you delete backup data, that data will become inaccessible through your account. If you delete your account, all information saved on your account becomes inaccessible.

The data that becomes inaccessible through your account may remain on our production servers for a period of time to enable you to recover your account or your data if you have accidentally deleted it. If you have accidentally deleted information from your account, you may contact consumerinfo@armorforandroid.com as soon as possible to recover it. Aggregate and anonymous information incorporating or derived from your data may remain on our servers indefinitely. For example, we may store a count of the number of devices that have ever encountered a particular piece of malware. Your data may remain on a backup server or media indefinitely. We perform backups to protect your data in the case of a problem with our production servers.

3. We limit the collection and use of personal information.

We are committed to only collecting information that is necessary to provide you with ArmorforAndroid.com services. The information we collect is stored and associated with your account unless otherwise noted. We take your privacy seriously and will only disclose this information under the terms described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy also identifies when we may store and/or release data in an anonymized aggregate form so that it cannot be associated with any individual user.

What types of information we collect:

Registration information you provide. Upon creating your ArmorforAndroid.com account, you may provide personal information including your email address, password, street address, zip code and phone number to ArmorforAndroid.com. You may also enter your mobile phone number on our website to initiate a text message with directions on how to download the app and register.

Credit Card Information. If you wish to upgrade to a premium account, in most cases we collect your full name, credit card number, expiration date and security code. We use this information to bill you for services.

Collection of 3rd Party PII You may also provide personal information about other people, such as their name and email address. This information is only used for the sole purpose of completing your request or for whatever reason it may have been provided.

Information Collected through our Mobile Application.

  • Hash combination of Wifi Radio ID or Mac Address
  • Unique Device Identifier (UDID, Device ID)
  • Location (Country Specific)
  • App Version
  • Version of Android OS
How the information is used:

Our purpose in collecting this information is to provide you with the ArmorforAndroid.com products and services and to continue to improve and expand them. We use your information to operate, maintain, and provide all of the features and functionality of the ArmorforAndroid.com Services that you register for, to track and analyze your preferences and trends in order to improve the quality and design of the ArmorforAndroid.com Services, lock the phone keyboard once a vehicle has reached 10 MPH, send customized responses to contacts who try to text or email while you are driving, request permission to override the current settings of the administrator, select panic mode in the case of an accident, and to create new features, promotions, functionality, and services. Some of the Services may be supported by advertising revenue and may display advertisements and promotions; hence your personal information would be used in order to generate targeted advertising and promotions by third parties. For example:

  • If you email ArmorforAndroid.com for support or fill out a survey, we will retain that information to provide you support and to improve ArmorforAndroid.com Services.
  • ArmorforAndroid.com may send text messages to your phone to communicate with your device and to provide download links, you may opt-out at any time from receiving text messages by contacting ArmorforAndroid support via phone (US Toll Free: 1-800-832-2807, UK Toll Free: 0-808-189-1341, Worldwide: +44-203-318-7138) or by email (consumerinfo@armorforandroid.com).
  • ArmorforAndroid.com uses your email address or mobile number from time-to-time for non-marketing or administrative purposes such as sending privacy or security related notices, notifying you of major ArmorforAndroid.com Services changes, or for other customer service purposes.
  • ArmorforAndroid.com may use your email address to contact you regarding product announcements such as special promotions or new products and services. You can choose to opt-out of receiving these emails at any time by logging into your web account and changing your account preferences.
  • Where available, ArmorforAndroid.com may use client device information to let you know you need to update your operating system.

Your choices affect the collection and use of personal information.

We currently offer a number of features across the mobile platforms we support that you may choose to enable or disable. Security and Anti-Virus

ArmorforAndroid.com Security and Anti-Virus products (available on different platforms) protect your device from malware and spyware. They scan files and applications as they are installed or accessed, automatically scan your entire device on a periodic basis, and regularly update your threat definitions. In order to perform these functions, we need to collect information about the applications and files present on your device, the results of any scans performed by our services, and actions you take as a result of scanning. We use this information to provide you with the Security and Anti-Virus services (including providing you a report of the security activity on your device on our web application and via email and analyzing applications and files in the wild so that we can provide better protection from security threats), to help people better understand mobile applications and their devices, and to improve ArmorforAndroid.com Services.

What types of information Security and Anti-Virus collect:

Information about the type of device you are using and the operating system you are running. We collect information about the applications on your device in order to conduct a scan. We also may collect information about how applications behave on your device (e.g. is an application sending premium-rate text messages that charge money to your phone bill) and the network services your applications communicate with in order to determine if any applications are behaving maliciously (e.g. is an application talking to a server known to host phishing websites).

Information about scans and scan results. Each time ArmorforAndroid.com performs a scan, we collect information that describes what files and applications are identified by the scan as potentially undesirable and your remediation choice (e.g. uninstall or ignore).

How the information is used:

Our purpose in collecting application data and security scan data is to provide you with Anti-Virus. We also use this data to optimize and improve this and other ArmorforAndroid.com services and products.

We may aggregate your data with other customers’ data in non-personally identifiable form to better understand current malware and spyware threats and to improve the Anti-Virus service. We may also share this anonymous aggregated data publicly to help others understand mobile threats and gain insights into particular mobile applications.

Firewall

If supported on your device, ArmorforAndroid.com Firewall protects your device from attacks over network interfaces. In order to provide this functionality, we collect information about traffic that is blocked by the firewall service. We use this information to provide you with information on the ArmorforAndroid.com web application about the firewall activity on your device and to improve the ArmorforAndroid.com Firewall service.

What types of information Firewall collects:

Firewall Event Data. We collect information about packets that are blocked by the firewall including header information (e.g. what server the packet was sent to, what server it came from, and the reason it was blocked).

How the information is used:

Our purpose in collecting firewall event data is to provide you with information about firewall events that have occurred on your device and to improve the ArmorforAndroid.com Firewall service. For example, the ArmorforAndroid.com web application reports the number of firewall events your device generates each day.

Backup

ArmorforAndroid.com Backup stores a copy of data that you choose to back up from your phone on a secure server. The data may include your contacts, call history, pictures, text messages, and other data. ArmorforAndroid.com Backup automatically backs up your data weekly or daily, based on your settings, restores your data to a new or existing phone, and allows you to retrieve your data anytime at ArmorforAndroid.com.

What types of information Backup collects:

Backup Data. Backup transmits a copy of the data on your device that you choose to back up to a server using an encrypted protocol.

How the information is used:

If you choose to use the ArmorforAndroid.com Backup feature, we will use the data you provide to deliver the Backup service. In order to notify you in the case of malicious behavior on your phone, ArmorforAndroid.com may scan both the data that is stored on your phone and backed up to our servers. For example, some malware has been known to spread via malicious text messages or steal money by dialing expensive phone numbers; to detect this, our system would scan the SMS messages or call history stored on your phone or backed up on our servers.

Missing Device

ArmorforAndroid.com Missing Device helps you find and secure your phone if it is lost or stolen. You can locate your phone on a map using location information provided by your phone, activate a loud siren even if your volume is turned down to find a phone lost nearby, wipe your phone, or lock your phone. Features and settings are controlled through our website at ArmorforAndroid.com.

What types of information Missing Device collects:

Location Data. ArmorforAndroid.com derives location information in two ways. We may receive it directly from your mobile device or, in some situations where we receive cell tower or Wi-Fi hotspot information. We may use third-party service providers to translate that information into usable location information.

How the information is used:

Our purpose in collecting this information is to provide you with the location of your phone when you request it. If you activate the locate feature, your browser will send location information to Google Maps in order to display a map of the location within your ArmorforAndroid.com account webpage. When activating this feature, we track the phone’s location for several minutes in order to provide an accurate location for you. This information is retained in your account history for as long as you wish and may be deleted by you at any time within your account settings. Once you choose to delete this information or disable your account, ArmorforAndroid.com anonymizes this data so that it is no longer associated to an individual’s personal information and kept for aggregate statistical purposes only.

Safe Browsing

If supported on your device, ArmorforAndroid.com Safe Browsing is a feature that identifies and warns you of unsafe websites so that you can choose to avoid visiting them.

What types of information Safe Browsing collects:

URLs. To provide the Safe Browsing service, we may transmit the URLs you visit on your phone to a ArmorforAndroid.com-provided or third-party service to determine if the URLs are unsafe (e.g. contain a phishing attack, malware, or exploit). If a URL you visit is determined to be unsafe, we store a record of the unsafe URL.

How the information is used:

We use the record of unsafe URLs you visit (1) to provide you with notice that you attempted to reach an unsafe site (e.g. when you log in to the ArmorforAndroid.com website or via e-mail) and (2) to improve our product. If you do not want us to record the unsafe URLs you visit, you may turn Safe Browsing off; all other ArmorforAndroid.com features will continue to function.

4. You can access and update your privacy settings.

Both the ArmorforAndroid.com web site and the ArmorforAndroid.com interface on your device have options that allow you to update or modify your privacy settings at any time. To protect your privacy and security, we require your username and password to verify your identity before granting you profile access or making changes.

If your personal information changes you may update your information within the ArmorforAndroid.com web site simply go to Account and select the information you wish to update. You also have the ability to delete your account if you wish to do so. If you wish to delete inaccuracies within your personal information or wish to request access to any personal information we obtain about you please contact us at consumerinfo@armorforandroid.com. We will respond to your request to access within 30 days.

You may also manage your application settings within the Mobile app such as notification frequency, back up data settings, and anti-virus protection, etc.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services contact us at consumerinfo@armorforandroid.com. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputed, and enforce our agreements.

5. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of your email address and password.

You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your password at all times. We recommend a strong password that you do not use with other services. If you believe your password has been compromised, please change your password immediately via the ArmorforAndroid.com web site or contact us at consumerinfo@armorforandroid.com for assistance.

You are responsible for ensuring that the email address associated with your account is accurate. ArmorforAndroid.com is not responsible for personal data transmitted to a third party as a result of a user providing an incorrect email address.

6. We take security seriously.

ArmorforAndroid.com is a security company and securing your data is one of our top priorities. ArmorforAndroid.com uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards. For example, we use a combination of firewalls, encryption, authentication, physical security, and other safeguards to protect your account and your data. We also perform third-party penetration tests to harden our systems from attack. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information that ArmorforAndroid.com receives on your behalf to operate the ArmorforAndroid.com Services or that you transmit to ArmorforAndroid.com and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or location based information on the web site, within the app, or our order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

If ArmorforAndroid.com learns of a security systems breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. ArmorforAndroid.com may post a notice on the ArmorforAndroid.com Services if a security breach occurs. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing.

7. International visitors.

The ArmorforAndroid.com Services are hosted in the United States and are intended for United States visitors. If you are using the ArmorforAndroid.com Services from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, then please note that you are transferring your personal data to the United States and by providing your personal data you consent to that transfer.

8. Third-party websites.

Our site contains links to other websites. When you click on one of these links, you are 'clicking' to another Web site. ArmorforAndroid.com does not accept liability for misuse of any information by any Web site controller to which we may link. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of these linked sites, which may differ from ours.

In addition, if you take advantage of an offer from one of our partners, you may be providing information directly to that partner. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of these partners.

9. Upon change in control.

In the event that ArmorforAndroid.com is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, we reserve the right, in any of these circumstances, to transfer or assign the information we have collected from our Users as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control so that the ArmorforAndroid.com Services can continue operations. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors’ rights generally, we may not be able to control how your personal information is treated, transferred, or used. You will be notified via notice through the ArmorforAndroid.com Services of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.

10. We post updates on our website whenever this policy changes.

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on this Site prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.

12. Tracking Technologies

Technologies such as: cookies, beacons, tags and scripts are used by Sight Glass and our partners, affiliates, or analytics or service providers. These technologies are used in analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual as well as aggregated basis.

We use cookies for our shopping cart, to remember users’ settings (e.g. language preference), for authentication. Users can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some features or areas of our site may be limited.

Log Files As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data. We do not link this automatically collected data to other information we collect about you.

13. Mobile Analytics

We use mobile analytics software to allow us to better understand the functionality of our Mobile Software on your phone. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, the events that occur within the application, aggregated usage, performance data, and where the application was downloaded from. We do not link the information we store within the analytics software to any personal information you submit within the mobile application.
